chipper

Chipper-shredders are great.  I am making my own mulch for the garden with the leaves.  They only problem is I have to stop every time I load the hopper to coax the leaves to shred cause they are wet.

Getting some calls for jobs so that is nice.  Mom and Dad helped a TON with the bills.  We will pay them back once I get a job or the house sells.  Hopefully both.

Not exactly what I had hoped for - having to get a job but I view it as a temporary thing until the farm gets going.

It seems strange calling those 5 acres a farm.  Barely one acre is actually without trees and right now all I have are six raised beds (that aren't even planted yet - thank you very much frost advisory laden spring).  But I plan on getting those planted asap now that it seems the frost has FINALLY broke.

I am fiending for a horse but yet again - no pasture fenced, no shelter, and no money.  Soon though.  It will give me some time to lose some weight (which I have been failing at).

Oh and when I went to visit Bill there was a new colt at the barn.

Jobs

My first job was at Ace Stables as a trail guide.  Bill and Beverly Spell ran the rent horse business   They became like family to me.  Yesterday I found out Beverly died from the cancer she had been fighting for years.  I had fallen out of contact with them.  She had died 2 months ago.

I went and saw Bill today.  He was working as usual.  Mucking stalls.  I rode with him in the dump truck and we talked for over an hour.  He is resilient.  Still working, cleaning stalls, barn maintenance, and training horses at 70.

I felt he comforted me with just general chatter.  He was always good at talking.

Bless him and his family.

Ugh

So much going on in the world.
So much going on here at home(s).
I can't even collect my thoughts to write something coherent.

Late

Fell behind with posting since I stayed down in Union for Easter.  The parents came up and stayed with me. They spent a lot of money on me and I appreciate it.
Sadie is still dealing with the tumor on her belly. It broke open and so I have been doctoringher the best I can. She still seems fairly perky so we'll let her keep chugging along.
Started some plants inside. I want to get the garden going soon now that frost is nearky done but I think it will be raining most of the week.
Need to get the St. Louis house on the market asap. Sooooo much to get done. And we are going to be helping with Khrystal's roof this weekend besides.
I will keep trying to post at lest once a week when I come to St. Louis on the weekends.
